Apartment Rentals in Florence

My friend and I are arriving Florence in early Nov. We have been working with florenceandtuscany.com, who are helpful but the apt we wanted is booked and the rental agent is on vacation until 28 Oct. While we probably will get something through them, we're starting to look elsewhere just in case. We've looked at florencevillas.com as well as cyberrentals (kind of expensive) and vrbo (working on a few ideas there). Does anyone know another site we should take a look at? We need a 2BR and preferably 2BA from 7 Nov until 17 Nov, in historical area of Florence (first choice). Thanks.

I have just got back from Italy and in Florence we stayed at Casa Caterina. We were very happy and it is just down the block from the Duomo. Very nice owners and it is much nicer than the pictures. See www.casacaterina.it. Can't recommend it highly enough. Good luck!

fitz

I used to freelance for florencevillas.com. I've stayed in the Santa Croce 1 apartment several times, and seen the SC2, which is probably better for two people. I know the company fairly well, or at least as it was a few years ago.

Might be able to answer questions. I have spent a decent amount of time in their properties.

Fitznj, We have just arrived home from our trip to Europe and stayed in a wonderful apartment in Florence booked through www.sleepinginflorence.com. The Dei apartment was in the San Lorenzo area close to all sites and catered very well for our needs. Gabriella the manager was very helpful and friendly too. Good luck.

the most reliable online rental agencies operating in Italy are:

http://www.summerinitaly.com/eng/rent/area5!italy_.htm

http://www.interhome.it/

http://www.cottagestocastles.com/

http://www.holiday-velvet.com/florence

I personally prefer the first one, as reliable and available 24h for everything you may need.

Another vote for Sleeping in Florence. We stayed in one of the 2 bedroom apartments on Borgo San Lorenzo last year. Just be aware that the San Lorenzo apartments have stairs and no lift, if that's an issue.

That's easy, send an email to www.iliostravel.com. they have loads of contacts for city apartments all over italy. Two bedroom, two bathroom in Florence is no problem. I always rely on them for my short breaks. But don't expect a bargain. Florence is not a cheap city regardless of what anyone says.

You've all been so helpful and we're grateful. We like the Parione very much. we are waiting on an apt. called Santa Croce 1 that also looks great. I've sent e-mails to everyone, basically, that you've mentioned. So we'll see. The only link I couldn't open was cottagestocastles. We'll let you know what we get, thanks again.

I have been reading this thread about apartments in Florence. We are looking for a large apartment in Florence and saw a particular one we liked (there are 6 of us). I'm just looking for any feedback on the rental agency "House in Florence" and the apartment is Dicambio in Piazza Signoria. Any information to offer to us for our making our decision, would be helpufl. Thank you.

The gentleman we dealt with in Florence (met us at the apartment and had the keys) was named Federico Pieri the Office address and number is Via Magenta 31, FIRENZE
00139 055 211144
This went very smoothly and we had no problems. Good Luck!
