Apartment rental in Rome

Jump to last reply

Hi all - we are finally getting back to Italy in September, this time to experience less of the "must see" sights and more of the everyday life. We have 5 full days in Rome and would like to rent an apartment but don't know where would be best. We want local color/flavor/markets/neighborhoods. We then will have a week in Sicily, driving from Trapani to Taormina, bypassing Palermo as we have been there, and have also been to the southern part of the island. Our last week will be from Venice (not spending any time there as we have done so in the past) driving west, through the lakes region, ending in Milan for our flight home. Any suggestions regarding the rental apartment in Rome, or any other part of this agenda will be most welcome (restaurants, sights, festivals, markets, which towns to stay, etc.)
