Has anyone a recommendation on an apartment in the Plaka, Athens? The draw, naturally is the location. We are looking for 2 bedrooms, a balcony and an elevator...two bathrooms would make it ideal but not a deal-killer.
After scouring a number of websites, nothing has quite fit the bill.
Much obliged...bdj

There are no apartments in the Plaka....
In the Plaka houses are extremely expensive and owned by Greek famous actors, musicians or cultural institutes.
It is very very unlikely that you will find an apartment to rent there..... ( and of course none of these houses has an elevator, as they follow the architecture of the 19th century )
Alternatively you can try Philopappou, an equally expensive area neighbouring to the Plaka, with much more choices or Thissio, another part of the city near the Plaka and quite similar to it.
But having checked several websites in the past i don't recall seeing anything there either, this may have changed of course in the meantime.
Yes, there are apartments for rent in the Plaka. It took me 2 minutes to find this one:

If you haven't done so already you can try homegreekhome.com and ask about elevators:

In the first website i only saw 1 apartment in the Plaka, the rest must be in the so called historical centre of Athens.
The second website has apartments, that are being rented per month , without furniture.... it is not for short stays....
Thank you for the replies. Found this while researching. Few photos of the actual apartment.
Has anyone stayed here or is familiar with it?
