Apartment in Rue Regrattier reviews please
We are thinking of renting an apartment VRBO #74506 on Ile St Louis. Has anyone stayed there. The owner has advised that it is available and we are about to ask which floor again. It says main floor but not sure what that means and the owner didn't answer the question.
Any information would be much appreciated.

I haven't rented it, but it seems pretty clear to me from the description (I viewed the website) that it is on the ground floor. That is usually what main floor would mean, I think. These owners appear to be foreign, and they call the bedroom (which is in a "loft" as on the first floor, which means some place up some stairs above the ground floor. I think they may be calling the bedroom on the "main floor" or first floor -- whatever, I think it is on the ground floor.

I visited this place when some friends were staying there. It is on the first floor, with stairs leading up to the bedroom and bathroom. I thought it was fine, and they raved about the owner being friendly and efficient, though there were some renovations that were not quite completed at that time a couple years ago. They generally prefer a more luxe environment and also stayed in the same owner's property VRBO 74510, also on Ile St Louis but located right on the quai Bethune - the living room window looks out over the Seine - and with posher furnishing.

Although I was not lucky enough to stay in either apartment, I know the area well. Last year the owner Giancarlo exchanged quite a few emails as we were hoping to rent #74510 for four weeks. It was not available for for the entire time, so he suggested that maybe we could stay there and then move to #74506, if the people that he was discussing it with didn't book it. He was very very nice and was willing to do some shuffling around for us to stay in the apartment.
We opted not to because we didn't want to move during our stay, even though it was so close. I think we made a BIG mistake, because we ended up with a real dump and had to move anyway, just to get out of there.
If Seamus has seen the apartment and thought that it was fine, I would go for it.
Again the apartment was booked for our next trip - maybe next year.
Enjoy your trip, you will love staying on St. Louis as we do.

I didn't see the question repeated.
The problem is that I wouldn't know what Seamus means by the term "first floor". To Americans (and maybe Canada, not sure), that means the ground floor, but in Europe it means one floor above ground.
