We are looking for an apartment in a nice,quiet neighborhood of Lisbon for 4 months for 2 persons beginning October, 2013. Any thoughts on location or recommendations on housing will be appreciated. Thank you.

We spent a month in Lisbon in January and loved the city. I'd look at vrbo, homeaway and sabbatical homes. I'm sure there are local resources too but I'm afraid I can't help with that! We enjoyed being in the enter of town in Bairro Alto but if you're looking for something quieter you could consider Principe Real a little up the hill or Graca which is on the other side of town past Alfama. There are LOTS of lovely neighborhoods. I think you'll find Lisbon fairly reasonable and I'm sure you're find prices negotiable for a four month stay.

Can we assume you are European???

If not, you really can't stay 4 months. The rule is 90 days.

oops - hit submit by mistake. By any chance do you have student visas? That is the other way you can stay more than 90 days?
