Apartment in Italy
My husband and I are going to stay in Siena as a home base for 12 nights in October. I'm trying to find an apartment in the city for a decent price (around $140/night). Does anyone have experience with this? I've been looking at Airbnb, but not having the best luck. Perhaps by price point is unrealistic.
Secondly, I'm looking for suggestions for a cooking class while in Tuscany.
Thanks.

This may be a little high for the budget, but we stayed here a week last September. The windows open up right to the square and it is simply spectacular.
The only negative was that it is a really old building (but well maintained) and you can't flush TP down the toilet, you have to put it in a bin and dispose of it. That was a little yeeecchhhy to me, but I got used to it.

$140 seems a huge amount for October.
Do you have to be in Siena?
I have stayed at Fattoria Pagnana (http://www.fattoriapagnana.it/en/home/) on occasions in the past for trade fairs in Florence and for 12 days you should be able to obtain a price of about Euro 650 for a great apartment. So for your budget you would have a car as well.
