Anyone stayed Sancere (Paris Perfect )

Hey Fodorites!

6 of my girlfriends and I have rented the Sancerre and the Champagne for 60th birthday celebrations for most of us. 5 in the Sancerre and 2 in the Champagne. Just looking for any feedback from anyone who has stayed in the Sancerre -- have read posts of the Champagne.

I so agree about Phillippe & Madeleyn. They are so accommodating, prompt, and helpful, as is their staff.

Will there be enough room for the 5 of us (who are all best friends!) and all our "stuff" in the Sancerre? Are the bathrooms large enough for 2 to be putting on makeup, etc., at one time? Is there more than one table and chair set on the balcony?

What were your favorite restaurants in the area? Markets? Patisseries? Boulangeries?

Anything you could add to our planning would be most appreciated! We are all so excited we can't stand the wait!

Merci!

Joy

My daugher and I stayed at Sancerre last April. The apartment is wonderful and you will certainly enjoy your time there. Master bedroom with queen size bed has bathroom with sink and tub with shower. Two could put make-up on at same time - but would be cozy. As I recall there is a table with mirror above in livingroom maybe even two. I think there is a mirror over the mantle. Only one person at a time can move around foot of bed - very close to wall. Lots of closet space so you will not have to walk around suitcases. Second bedroom with twin beds about the same size as master bedroom. Second bath off hallway. Large kitchen with two working very comfortably at the same time. The pull out couch in livingroom is very good. One day my daughter wasn't feeling well during our visit and spent most of the day on that bed and found it very comfortable. The only problem might be five using one toilet but certainly is doable. Hope this helps - if you have any other questions you can e-mail me at [email protected] Have a wonderful trip.

I'm confused. My family of four will be staying in Sancerre in December, but my understanding, ans as suggested in your post, is that there are two bathrooms. Why would five people be required to share one toilet?

Because "bathroom"s are just that ..a room with bathtub/ shower and a sink..there are 2 of those . The toilet is a seperate room and there is only 1 of those if you read the amenities carefully.

Steveboy:

Jody is correct - only one toilet in Sancerre. And if you have very long legs, you will have difficulty closing the bathroom door completely.

My husband and I spent a lovely week in Cabernet in May. You might want to check my trip report for details on restaurants, etc., as all the ParisPerfect apartments are in the same neighborhood. If the Sancerre balcony is anything like Cabernet (and the website photos do look like they are in the same building), you can expect it to be quite small, each bistro table having two chairs, rather noisy as it overlooks Avenue Rapp, but oh so perfect for les aperitifs or late night views of la tour Eiffel. Having a balcony and having this particular view is a real treat that you are sure to enjoy. Bon voyage!
