Anyone stayed at the Kraft Hotel or the Mona Lisa in Florence?

We are considering these two hotels in Florence and would like to know how close they are to the center of the historic area. We would also appreciate any other comments or recommendations. We're also looking for a hotel in Siena. Thanks.

i stayed at the kraft last july. it is not in the heart of town that's for sure. however, you're not so far away you couldn't walk to, for example, the duomo.
very nice hotel and the only one we could get in our price range.
overall, i'd have liked to been closer, but we couldn't complain.

Just came back from Florence a few weeks ago.
I stayed at the Monna Lisa and adored it.
I can't say enough to recommend this hotel. You can walk to everything in Florence quite easily.
Monna Lisa is a little out of the way but that is part of its charm. At dusk, the sisters from the convent next door serenade with their beautiful prayers and songs. The gardens are exquisite as are all the public places.
It took me no more than 10 minutes to get to the "heart" of everything.

Hi Pam

We're staying at the convent next door to the Monna Lisa in October. The nuns sing?! That's great! Can't wait.

We stayed at The Kraft in June 1999. It could not have been nicer, close enough to walk to everything, though not in the center, with a beautiful roof garden, with great views, and a great buffet breakfast served on the roof.
