Anyone here use romebuddy.com?

Hi,

I hope to visit Rome with two friends this November and we are currently looking at apartments in the central historic district. Has anyone here used romebuddy.com to verify an apartment posting on sleepinitaly or any other Rome apartment listing? The site does look interesting, but is it worth the money?
This will be our first visit to Rome and we don't want to be scammed!

Also, we are especially interested in a largish apartment posted on sleepinitaly.com, via Brunetti near the Piazza del Popolo (2 baths). Is anyone here familiar with that particular property and/or that area?

Mille grazie,

Rebecka

Oddly enough, that was our first choice of apartment in Rome, but it was already rented. We're staying in an apartment not too far from there on via di ripetta. Very good area, right near the action and the historic center, spanish steps, villa borghese, etc.

The only drawbacks I could see for us of the via Brunetti apt. were that there's no lift (it's on the 4th floor) and no satellite tv (I must have my cnn even on vacation). Otherwise, it looks very nice and spacious!

Thank you, sera. That is very helpful. I wouldn't mind the stairs but I'll have to pass this info along to my friends.

Anyone else?

Sera,

Another CNN Junkie.....Excellent. So, what have you found by way of apartments in Rome that have satellite TV? Anything?

Thanks for any insights.

Just returned last Thursday night from almost 3 weeks in Italy ? mostly Rome. I rented two apartments in the same building only because there were 4 of us and we could not find any thing else suitable in the area I wanted without having to use sofa beds and also with 4 women we needed more than one bath.

I have rented for my third time from sleepinitaly & these are the apartments I chose this time. Many positives great location, plenty of wonderful restaurants ect. The only drawback which I knew about were the 58 stairs no lift, we got over it quickly. The only time that it was a drag was when we hauled our luggage up those steps but the owner helped us which was very kind.

Apartment 1 http://www.sleepinitaly.com/files/apt_coronari2.html Of the two this one was the less expensive one and I ended up liking it best. It had better natural light and overlooks Via dei Coronari which is one of my all time favorite streets. It had a real double bed not two pushed together, a full fridge, gas burners microwave but no oven. The bathroom had plenty of hot water for a shower with good water pressure and there were plenty of shelves for toiletries.

I bought candles too soften it a bit at night because the overhead light in the living/dining area was just a bit too severe. The bedside light was very dim for reading but rarely was I able to keep my eyes open for very long anyway after being out. It has Satellite TV for CNN and MTV.

Apartment 2 http://www.sleepinitaly.com/files/apt_coronari.html This apartment was more expensive and had a full kitchen which I took use of! The furnishings were more sophisticated but it a bit felt dungeon like at times to me due to lack of light, I also bought candles for this apartment. Good closet dresser & space, washer no dryer but there is a line outside the windows and I just bought clothes pins or used the radiator. It also has Satellite TV for CNN and MTV.

I hope to write more on my actual trip sometime soon, it was beautiful.

Eileen
