Anyone familiar with Villa Treville?
I am wondering if anyone has feedback on Villa Treville. It looks very private and out of the main area of Positano - but is it too far? We certainly want to see Positano and Ravello but also would enjoy a little exclusivity and privacy, as well. We are looking for a good balance of relaxing, sipping prosecco, sampling the cuisine and site seeing. Anyone have info for this hotel?

Do not want a car on the AC. Don't mind occasionally calling a cab to go to dinner and totally great to walk - if the road isn't too hazardous for pedestrians.
But you all are getting what I am trying to find out...is it too out of the way. Will read the TA reviews to see if any mention feeling too far away from town, etc...

That would be too far out of town for my taste. You cannot walk along the road (well, you CAN, if you want to take your life in your hands and dodge traffic), so you would have to rely on taxis and the buses. I enjoy being able to walk to the restaurants in the evening, walk to our hotel or apartment in the middle of the day if I want to, etc.
But if you want to just relax at the hotel most of the time, it is a gorgeous property (although I would prefer Hotel Il San Pietro).

Have you checked out www.summerinitaly.com for a rental? They were excellent to deal with

We stayed in Positano and were happy we did so. We were there in May and public transportation just was not a good option. The buses were frequently full and did not run that often. Being able to safely walk to restaurants is a big plus, outweighing the privacy factor.

According to this website, the SITA buses stop at Arienzo. A private bus service (Flavio Gioia) is also mentioned, but I couldn't find a current timetable.
