Anyone done the hoho bus tours in Malta?

Just taking a stab that someone might see this who has been to Malta and taken the HOHO bus tours. I know Malta doesn't seem to generate much interest here. Anyway I'm in Malta right now (promise to write a trip report eventually) and Valletta is wonderful. But I was planning on doing a day trip to Gozo and the only practical way to do that without a car is the HOHO tours (there are two companies). Was just checking Trip Advisor as to which one is better and they both get absolutely awful reviews. Just terrible. Now I'm thinking of not wasting my time but I'd hate to miss Gozo. Still, 4 hours round trip on a bus just to get there and then a horrid tour doesn't sound like fun.

So, please, if you've any knowledge of these tours let me know - one is "city sightseeing" (same company you see all over, and apparently are ok elsewhere but they get the worst reviews) and "Malta sightseeing" with only slightly less horrid reviews.

Thanks.
