Anyone been to Chateau Gutsch in Luzern lately?

Has anyone been to Chateau Gutsch in Luzern lately? I know they did a reonvation of the old castle and heard the view of Luzern is just lovely. I would assume that you would have to make reservations for a place like that. What did you think of the food? Also, did anyone walk up the castle or did you take the funicular? I am curious if people thought the expensive lunch/dinner was worth it.....

Was there some years ago and walking up is not recommended unless you have a lot of time to waste. We stayed there (it was fine and views good) and the food was OK but old-fashioned (I'm sure it mayhave changed since then).

They renovated it two years ago so I am wondering perhaps if someone recently has gone there??? Perhaps with new owners, teh decor has been updated and the new chef is better.....

Thanks for the tip on the walking up to the castle. I will probably take the funicular. However, if all the feedback is bad on the place I might not even want to go. It just seems awesome since it is this castle up on a hill overlooking Luzern.

Thanks! I couldn't remember the name of where my wife and I stayed in Lucerne back in 1980. Back then it was listed by Playboy as one of their top romantic getaways. And it's still in business? Gotta check out their website.
