Yep. It sure happened. We had all of our prescription caps taken and paper was stuffed into the containers. Fortunately I had no liquid prescriptions so I don't know what they would have done with those.

I thought the whole idea was stupid. I asked why and was told that two liquids could be mixed in a prescription bottle and, if the caps were available, the mixture could be used as an explosive.

Looks to me like Scotch Tape would have sealed the container just as well.

I hope that foolishness is not ongoing.

I flew between Zurich and London last week (December 12) and the carry-on restrictions were like those to most destrinations-one bag and one briefcase (I too was worried about the restrictions into London, but apparently they affect only flights from London). Check with your airline for exact details (and make sure you ask about your particular route, both ways).

Note that my reply just pertains to the on-board baggage allowance, not to any particular items allowed or disallowed (Zurich does require that liquids and gels purchased landside or outside be in a plastic bag, just like in the US). Don't know about any other restrictions.
