Any trouble using credit card on Bono Turistico Granada website?

Has anybody had any trouble using an American credit card on the Bono Turistico site to buy the card (with Alhambra reservation)? There are so many reported problems on the Ticketmaster site, I thought I would try the Bono site. Alhambra reservations for my dates are not available yet so I can't try it. I am concerned that by the time I can, if my card doesn't work, guided tours will also be sold out.

Definitely notify the CC company that you plan to make online purchases through a foreign/Spanish website.

Also, have you tried another credit card?

I haven't tried to purchase because Alhambra reservations for June are not available yet. Just thought maybe someone had some direct experience with the Bono Turistico site. I have used my card for similar reservations in Italy and had no problems but it seems Spain is a different ballgame. My card was not accepted on the Spanish bus line Alsa site so used PayPal but that is not an option on the Bono Turistico site.

But have you informed your CC company about all of these online purchases? Maybe the company considers Spanish websites as being generally less secure than Italian ones.

Try it, but after notifying your bank. If there are any problems, someone here will be happy to assist. Other then that, the Bono Turistico site shouldn't be a problem. It's run by the city.

I sometimes make small purchases on foreign websites and they go through without notifying the card company in advance. Up to $220 without an issue. I did have a $2700 airline purchase blocked once.

Thanks for the replies. I have now successfully used my card on another Spanish website without notifying the card company first. (Small amount) So I think it was a problem with the Alsa site in particular. Hopefully, it will work on the Bono Turistico site when the time comes.
