Any hotel with swimming pool in Venice?
Sometimes, specially in summer, we like to combine cultural and touristic visits with relax and sun. This is what we have done basically in Tuscany and Provence: visits in the morning and swimming pool in the afternoon.
Now, we are considering the possibility to do the same in one of the most beautiful cities in the world: Venice. The problem is that we can’t find a hotel with swimming pool in this city, apart from the unaffordable Cipriani.
Does anyone know any hotel with pool in Venice? We don’t want to do long distance trips every day, so it should be in Venice.
Thanks,
Àlex

The Westin on Lido has a pool. If you don't want to stay out on the Lido, I believe that if you stay in one of the Westins in Venice you can also use the pool at the Westin Lido and also the shuttle boat that goes out to it. I would not swear by this, so check the starwood.com website and also possibly run a search here.
There was a thread here recently on public pools in Venice as well. I also believe that the Ciprini allows you to use their pool for a somewhat hefty daily fee, but that might work for you in lieu of paying their even heftier room rates.

I've always understood that one of the things the Cipriani is famous for is being the *only* hotel with a swimming pool in Venice.
Friends of ours enjoyed staying at the Lido, getting the boat into town for culture in the mornings and spending the afternoon on the beach, and I quite fancy doing that on our next trip to Venice.

Cicerone is correct. We are booked (using starwood points) at the Europa Regina this summer, which has a complimentary hotel boat to take you to the Westin Lido to use their pool and beach facilities, also complimentary.
Here is the thread on Venice pools which Cicerone mentioned: http://www.fodors.com/forums/threads...p;tid=34793721
Another option would be to stay in Venice, making a few afternoon outings to the Lido beaches? Not quite as relaxing as having your own pool, but an option.

Thanks for all the informations.
To pay a fee to use the swimming pool in the Cipriani is an option (if the fee isn't too high).
Another option is to use the pool and beach in the Lido or, even, to stay in the Lido. Do you know how the shuttle boat works? Do you have to pay for it? Does it have a timetable?
Thanks again for the information

I am not sure I completely understood your question, but if you stay at the Westin Lido or the Les Bains hotel (they have two on the Lido now) or any of the 3 Westins in Venice (see them at all starwood.com) I believe you can use the joint hotel shuttle boat which goes from Venice to the Lido several times a day, and you can use it for free. I don't know this for sure and don't know the schedule, I would e-mail the hotel and ask to get the correct info, or perhaps others will post. Also if you stay in Venice at the Westin, they may charge you to use the pools at the Lido Westins, you may want to ask about this.
I don't have any current information on the price for daily entry to the Cipriani pool, and am not even sure non-residents of Venice can do it, but I have a vague recollection of hearing that is was something in excess of US$40 a day. Perhaps others have info.
What you might be able to do is book a treatment at their spa each day and then get pool privileges, this is quite common at most hotels; I just did this at the Peninsula spa in Hong Kong on Saturday. I had a massage and was then allowed to stay all day and use the outdoor pool and the gym, a good deal on a hot day here in Hong Kong. You should contact the Casanova Spa and ask if all their treatments entitle you to stay and use the pool and facilities. If so, the price of a pedicure, manicure or a massage each day might be worth it, not to mention the benefit of actually having the treatments. The website for the spa is at http://www.hotelcipriani.com/web/oci...c3e_beauty.jsp and their e-mail is [email protected]
Finally, I have found another hotel in Venice which has a pool, the San Clemente Palace Hotel, go to http://www.thi.it/benvenuto.asp?id=7 or lhw.com. It is on its own island as well, across from San Marco. It is a member of Leading Hotels of the World (that's where I found it) which is usually a good sign. It seems to be a bit cheaper than the Cipriani. They may also allow non-guests to use their pool for a fee. They also have a spa and perhpaps you get pool privileges if you book treatments.

This is the message I received from the Cipriani when I asked about the possibility to use their swimming pool paying a fee:
"We are very sorry in informing you that the smwimming pool in the Hotel Cipriani is just for the Clients, therefore we are not able to answer your requests."

Hi ...
How long are you going to Venice? If longer than 3 or 4 nights, have you considered staying somewhere like Lido de Jeselo? This has a great beach & most hotels have pools - can get to Venice in an hour.
