Hi people,
I need to ur help to decide what to do on my 3rd day in Brussel!
I'm travelling to Brussels this weekend, actually today and will be in Brussels tomo (16th June) whole day. On 17th (Sunday) I'm doing a day trip to Brugge. Just today i realized that i've one extra day, as i booked my return bus to London on monday nyt instead of sunday night by mistake.
Now i cant decide if i should go to Antwerp or Luxemborg for a day. I've never been to these countries before, so everything would be a new experience for me.
Thanks for your suggestion

Well Antwerpt is a lot closer. But which ever you do could you post a little trip report as I am going to both of them next month and would love to hear what you did.
Many people round here seem to rave about Antwerp but I dislike it intensely (used to go there frequently on business) - it's an ugly industrial city with cr*p weather and cigarette smoke everywhere. Luxembourg is a longish day trip from Brussels and there ain't a great deal to see when you get there.
I'd suggest a battlefield tour out of Brussels (either WW1 or Waterloo) as a good way to fill the extra day.
I would vote for Antwerp. I strongly disagree with the assessment in the last post. See my trip report from last fall (Day 8) for a description of some of the things you can do there

My trip report also describes some other day trips from Brussels and things to do in Brussels you could consider.
Thx guys for the suggestion - I think i'll go to antwerp for a day..

@Vttraveler: Thats a gr8 trip report, i enjoyed reading it, althought cudn read it completely.. also found ur belgian beer post quite fascinating, thx for sharing..
I'm thinking of writing my trip reports now!!
Can anyone plz tell me, which one is better between Antwerp and Ghent? And if both can be done in a day?
Thanks
Definitely don't try to do both Antwerp and Gent in one day. they are both great destinations.
Ghent!
Or how about Dinant?
