Hi guys,
We're thinking of renting this apartment during our week-long stay in Paris:

It is in the 16th arrondissement, in the Mirabeau district. I was just wondering if anyone could give me some information on this area, both in general terms (how do you like it? Is it safe? etc.) and especially on how easy it is to get to more central areas and major sites. Will it take forever? I gather the area is pretty quiet, which I like, but I am concerned that it is too far out and will make getting to and fro and doing our tourist thang a pain in the butt.
We plan to rely solely on the metro, buses and our feet to get around, as we are too poor for taxis, so take this into consideration 
Our goals for this trip are mainly to see the sights, eat some good food, relax, and wander!
There are other apartments we are looking at too, but this is our favorite so far, and also the cheapest (though not by a whole lot) that we have come across. But if you have other suggestions in this price range, feel free! (we'll go up to 400-ish euros!)
Lastly, right under the monthly rental price, it says minimum 6-month stay. Do you suppose this refers to only the monthly rate?

That's the Auteuil area down in the bottom of the 16th. It's a very nice area, lots of original Art Nouveau buildings. It is up-scale and def. safe, that's for sure.
But all of this is irrelevant as it says they only want a min. 6 month stay and I think they mean it. No, I don't think it just means to get that monthly rate, it means at all. So you need to keep looking. sorry
I don't think they would provide a weekly rate if they did not rent by the week.
The monthly rate most likely applies only if you rent for 6 months, otherwise the weekly rate kicks in.
That's how I would read it.
That's the part I didn't understand; for one, why bother giving a weekly rate at all if you can only stay minimum6 months? and secondly, the weekly rate multiplied by 4 weeks is more than the monthly rate, so my assumption was that the monthly rate is lower provided you're willing to stay minimum 6 months.
Christina, thanks for your feedback on the area; I had a general sort of impression that it's safe but confirmation is nice
PS, if it's any consolation, I think you would find that too inconvenient. It's that cheap partly because it isn't very big but also because it is a long term rental. It's a clue that the place is booked solid from 1/1/ to end of May, looks like that want a long-term rental beginning around June 1st.
whether weekly rentals are even possible . . . Do you really want a ninth floor walk up??? (8th floor)
It says there is an elevator up to the 7th floor
oh - missed that bit.
But it really does look like it is only a long term rental. The weekly rate may only be for short periods between longer lets. But why not give them a call and find out.
Yea, I have a bad feeling you're right. However we have contacted parisattitude and hopefully they will be able to answer our questions.

The apartment looks very pretty but it is tiny (17 sq. meters) and some distance from the sights you've come to see.
I recommend choosing an apartment closer to the center. The closer you are to the center, the less you will need to spend on transportation.
IdyllicItaly: it turns out its not available anymore anyway! You're right, though, its probably for the best, the apartments we've been offered as alternatives are a little more expensive but much more convenient
