annhig, I have a Paris question for you

Hi annhig,
I noticed on the 'hotels on the left bank' thread you mentioned that you were staying at Les Jardin du Luxembourg in February and I was wondering what you thought of it. We're looking for a nice, moderately-priced hotel in Paris for a few days at the end of September / beginning of October and their website looks good.

We'll be visiting with friends who are staying in Saint Germaine -- one couple at the Hotel Michelet Odeon and the other in an apartment on the Rue Buci. Would that be a good location for us, do you think?

We're looking for something clean, well-located and with a modicum of charm (or something). What do you thing?

Thanks, Pierro. It's my friends who are staying at the Hotel Michelet Odeon. I've looked at their website and the rates listed there say 2008. I've emailed for current rates but haven't heard back from them yet. Perhaps I'll give them a call today.

I'll definitely look into the other two suggestions.

gtg - from personal experience at Hotel Michelet Odeon, the rooms facing rue de Conde are very noisy if you have the windows open. Lots of motorcycles, trucks, buses going through early in the morning.

Hi dan,
The Dauphine is definitely one of the hotels that interested me but two problems -- it's more than I was hoping to spend, and even if I did want to spend that much, they don't have a room for us on the days we'll be there. Good thought, though.

Thanks, dan. We're all set now. I've booked us at the Trianon Rive Gauche which was recommended on another thread.
