Anne Frank House - Amsterdam
We will be in Amsterdam April 12-14, and would like to visit the Anne Frank House. I see online that there are no advance tickets available, but that they do allow ticket sales at the museum for entry after 3:30 p.m.
Does anyone know how early we should plan to queue up in order to get a same-day entry ticket? Wondering if the wait is so long it might not be worthwhile for such a short visit to Amsterdam. Hate to give up sightseeing time standing in a long line.

This is one of the places that are more interesting to read about than to actually visit. If in a rush, I'd would give it a pass.
But as far as I know, you can book your visit online and thus avoid the queue.

I totally disagree w/ this - it is one of the most moving places I have ever visited.

Not if one has left it too late as in this case.
scdreamer: I went (w/ pre-booked tix) late last April and the queue for day tickets was about 3 blocks long. it was enormous.

If you read http://www.annefrank.org/en/Museum/P...and-location1/
it says the ticket sales at the counter restricted to 15:30 hr until the closing time STARTS May 1, 2016.
Until then, including April 12-14, it looks like the current system remains - tickets sold all day. While I have visited the house only with reservations, the recommendation has been to get there before opening or the last hours. I got in the last online slot of the day last fall, but I felt I could have gotten in without reservation at the last hour of the day without too much wait.

menachem - yes, we will likely try to see the Jewish quarter, and the historical museum. I was just hoping to visit the Anne Frank House, too, as we missed this on our only other time in Amsterdam, which was quite brief.
