Andalusia Itinerary-Suggestions
We are set for the majority of our two weeks stay in Andalusia. Our itinerary is as follows:
3 Nights Seville
2 Nights Cordoba
3 Nights Granada
2 Nights Ronda
2 Nights ????
I would like suggestions on how to spend our last two days in the region. We will have a car for the last portion of our trip, after Granada, and plan to leave for Madrid via Cordoba on AVE. A thought was to spend our last night at the parador in Carmona. Any other thoughts, suggestions, opinions? I would be most grateful. We plan to visit the Pueblos Blancos, Jerez, Arcos during our time in Ronda, or as we leave. Is this too ambitious? Maybe we really only have one day to fill. If so, were should we spend our second to last night? Cadiz has gotten missed reviews from Fodorites.
Thanks so much,
Lisa

My DH and I went to Spain for our honeymoon last year and visited Seville, Granada and Jerez.
I would say 3 days in Seville are fine. 3 days might be one day too much in Granada.
I would also not recommend Jerez, although the sherry tour was interesting. There's a town called Sanlucar de Barrameda about 20 km from Jerez. It's right on the water, so there's a beautiful beach and restaurants with great seafood. Sherry is also produced there, so there might be a plant doing tours.
We just drove through Arcos and I wish we could have stayed. It looked beautiful.
Otherwise, I think your itinerary looks OK.

If you are seafood people, I'd vote for Sanlucar. It is a large fishing port so everything is so fresh. Daily, from 3-5 pm, at Bonanza [5 miles n. of Sanlucar] the fleet unloads the catch and auctions it off. Perhaps the most interesting 2 hours Ihave spent anywhere in Europe. Truly a sight to behold.
Anohter thoufht is to drive south out of Granada to Lanjaron and then take the road on to Bubion, Capiliera, etc. Not for the faint of heart but beauftiful.

I just got back from Málaga and had a great time there. The food is wonderful (lots of delicious fish), and though it is a city, it is very easy going and intimate. Some of the hotels there have parking, too, which is good, and the areas surrounding Málaga are great to see.

Nerja might be a good place too (you could stop and sightsee in Malaga on the way). It's on the beach, the caves are fantastic, and there's a wonderful "white village" there--Frigiliona that's worth checking out (as are several others such as Vejer de la Frontera and Cascares.
Also, check out parador.es for possible places to say.

Once in Ronda, you may have enough with the city itself. If you are willing to visit surroundings, I highly recommend Grazalema - Zahara de la Sierra - Algodonales round trip, the road is good.
Arcos is a little farther, though you can make it easily, and it deserves it. Arcos old quarters is a little smaller than Ronda's, it is really beautiful. Very good restaurants here the Parador's and the Marques de Torresoto, nearby.
Jerez is simply too far away, and I do not recommend it.
The last night in Parador de Carmona is an EXCELLENT idea, a very good Parador in a beautiful monumental baroque city.
