How do I check the price on a point-to-point ticket from Amsterdam to Emmerich? I have a Germany/Austria railpass, and just want to get from Amsterdam into Germany.
I'm not even trying to buy tickets now, I'm just trying to establish at what time trains run the day of the week we're leaving Amsterdam (Saturday) and about how much the tickets will be (for budgeting purposes).
We're not going for quite awhile, so I've been searching Saturdays in February just in case I'm looking out too far, but still no luck.
On bahn.de, it shows several trains but says "unknown tariff abroad." On ns.nl it only lists one train per day, a CityNight line, with no cost associated and directs me to an international site, which doesn't allow Emmerich as an option from Amsterdam.
Please help, I'm starting to feel like an idiot.

You can also use the Dutch railway site: www.ns.nl
Enter Arnhem as a destination. It will show you a price of 14.20 Euros 2nd class one-way. From there to the border, it might be additional 4 or 5 Euros.
Hi traveller1959: If you don't mind I am also looking for train ticket from Amsterdam into Germany except to Frankfurt Main. Any suggestion. i am kind of lost in those two sites you suggested supposed becasue I don't read either Dutch or Germany.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
If you have a rail pass for Germany, you need to buy a ticket to the border which will be between stations. I doubt whether this fare is listed anywhere, but station ticket offices can sell you a ticket to the border if you show them your rail pass and tell them where you're crossing the border. For your journey, the fare will be slightly more than the Amsterdam-Arnhem fare. If the train is a high-speed train, there may be a supplementary fare.
For schedules, use www.bahn.de.
Both sites are also available in English. www.bahn.de has a German flag at the right rim, there is a menu where you can choose English.www.ns.nl has the word "English" at the upper rim, just click on it.
For schedules, you can use www.bahn.de for the whole trip.
To get a ticket, use www.ns.nl for a ticket to Arnhem, and www.bahn.de for a ticket from Emmerich to Frankfurt. If you have a railpass you do not need a ticket.
The small section between Arnhem and Emmerich can be paid on the train. Just ask the conductor.
i spent hours trying to go from amsterdam to emmerich. I also have a german pass. The chepeast way to do it now that the cost of the euro sucks is taking a train from ams to duisburg that cost 52 bucs. That is the closest train station in germany that you can start using your german pass. Good luck and let's hope that the euro plunges..........
In july i am going to Goch in Germany by train from Amsterdam.
