Looking for a restaurant for a special dining experience for our last night in Amsterdam. We will be 4 adults with 3 kids (age 8, 10, 10 - know how to behave in a restaurant and enjoy trying new foods). Special because of a unique location, ambience, the food, etc...
Any other general recommendations for dining in Amsterdam would be great too.

French Riviera Overview
We had a special (DH's birthday) dinner in Amsterdam at Le Pecheur, Reguliersdwarsstraat 32. Despite it's being on the ocean, there aren't a huge number of seafood places in Amsterdam. The food was very good, as was the service. Our DD had an appetizer as her dinner. On the expensive side.
We very much enjoyed having drinks (they have snacks, too) at
‘t Smalle, Egelantiersgracht 12, in the Jordaan. It is small, and up behind the bar, up an almost-vertical set of stairs, is a loft area with tables and chairs. They also have a seating area across the narrow street, right on the canal.
De Prins, Prinsengracht 124, is also on the Jordaan. Just a decent, typical bar/restaurant; they serve fondues, which DD and DH enjoyed.
The place we really enjoyed was ‘t Singeljte Pancake (Old Dutch Pancake house), 494 Singel. A cute little place with some outdoor seating, they serve Dutch pancakes, which are similar to crepes. But even tastier, IMHO, are the little, puffy other type of Dutch pancakes, called poffertjes.

Also (take a ferry across IJ to NDSM Shipyard: IJKantine, Pllek and Noorderlicht are nice, especially when the weather is good.

I'd say IJkantine is probably the most kid-friendly, and NDSM is interesting in its own right. Lots of exploration to do.
Also, it's probably the least touristy, though locals in the know go there a lot
