Amsterdam Gay Pride Weekend with Kids

Jump to last reply

We will be on a Northern European cruise in July which ends on August 1st in Amsterdam. We will be staying in Amsterdam from the 1st to the 3rd.

While researching my trip today , I realized that our trip coincides with the Gay Pride Events in Amsterdam , of which the highlight is the Gay Pride Canal Parade. This event apparently attracts over 350 , 000 visitors.

My questions:

I am averse to huge lines and crowds! Any tips on reducing crowd frustration? I plan on buying a Holland Pass to skip lines where I can.

Are rsstaurant reservations common in Amsterdam ? I visited Amsterdam once very briefly , didn't make ressies.

Transport advice or comments?

I will be traveling with my 3 kids , ages 9 , 13 and 16. While the events look like a lot of fun and very interesting , will they be appropriate for kid viewing ? I don't mean politically , I am a liberal :) . I mean content wise .....

We will be staying at the Toren .

Thanks . Any tips or Amsterdam highlights for families?
