Amsterdam Accommodation - Flying Panckae B&b or Holiday Inn Amsterdam De Boelelaan???

Hi again,
I am tossing up between these two accomodations. They are both around the same price and as I understand, both a little out of the main city centre.
Has anyone stayed at either place?
What are your thoughts?
Look forward to your replies.
Donna

If those are your two choices, I'd definitely prefer the Flying Pancake B&B. There's a lot of interest within easy walking distance, and it's a nice area. If you want to take a tram through Amsterdam, it's easy. I've been in this area and did not stay that far away.

I haven't been to that Holiday Inn, but from what I can tell, it's not near anything interesting, and you can't really walk anywhere.

HI De Boelelaan is in Amsterdam South, roughly between the airport and the city.Just some hotels and houses, nothing else.
If you want to go into the city you need transportation (tram) to get there.
Donot know the other hotel.

Locationwise the Flying Pancake is better. Accomodation wise I can't say but the Holiday Inn will be just a bog-standard hotel, the Flying Pancake looks to be more interesting. You can walk from the Flying Pancake into the centre.

We stayed at the HI De Boelelaan and would not do so again. There is nothing nearby. One day we returned to our rooom and found that housekeeping had failed to shut the door room. After complaining about that, they quit cleaning the room.
