Amsterdam- Paris - Cote d'Azur help

Hi there,
My wife and I have desided to make a trip around mid September for about two weeks and we think to go Amsterdam - Paris - Cote d'Azur.Any thoughts would be very helpfull.
Do you think is better to go first to Amsterdam or Nice-I'm thinking of the weather-and to Cote d'Azur better moving around by car or by train-I read about a lot of traffic between Nice and Saint Trope-also what do you think of a schedule like this:
3-4 days Amsterdam
1-2 days Luxeburg city
3-4 days Paris
4-6 days around Cote d'Azur

Thanks in advance
Effie-Nikos

Have you ever been to any of these places before? If not, I think Paris deserves more time than Amsterdam. In fact, if it were my trip, I would skip Amsterdam this time and divide the two weeks maybe equally between Paris and the Cote d'Azure, possibly with a little more time in Paris (with day trips). But that is just me, and I don't know what your likes and dislikes are. If you told us more about your priorities, people could probably advise you more accurately.

I'd skip Amsterdam on this itinerary. It's completely personal opinion because I loved Paris and was only lukewarm about A'dam plus I prefer not to change cities/hotels quite so often and have more time in each place.

Personally I'd take out Luxemburg but it is the only place emntioned I have not been. But the other three are all destinations I have enjoyed very much. I'm headed to A'dam in late Aug. for 5 nites - I think there is alot to do but we tend to mosey more than speed sightsee. A'dam is great for sitting in cafes and people watching, plus several good museums, some pleasant day trips nearby. The "brown cafes" have good food. I would suggest a hotel in the canal zone. I'd probably start in A'dam and head south for maximizing warm weather. We were in Nice several years ago around Sept. 20th and it was fine for pool lounging and sea swimming too. I think its a great combiantion of destiantions and enough time to really experience each one. Bon Voyage! SueC1

nicgolas,
Hello. If you like nice hotels and good food then I would think Paris would be good for 5 days. I mean, Paris in September is incredible. You may not want to leave.

Also, Provence and the Riviera are great at that time of year. Sunny, warm, less people than summer.

I am very partial to taking trains in France. Driving is crazy and expensive. Relax on the train. Just my thoughts. Have a great time.

I would also skip Amsterdam this time around and spend more time the other places. Esp. Paris. Holland is great during the Spring time when the weather is better and all the flowers are in bloom.
Have fun.
