Amalfi Coast: Restaurant Recommendations

i will be traveling throughout the Amalfi Coast from mid- end of September. I am blessed to live in San Francisco where we enjoy excellent food and wonderful restaurants. This is my first trip to the area and I would appreciate any recommendations. The quality of the food is most important, as is a place where I can carry on a conversation with my friend.
Thank you!

Hi Allysone - 2 of my favourites are

- La Tagliata (- Montepertuso) and
- Da Costantino (- Positano/ Chiesa Nuova)

La Tagliata has superb coastal views stretching as far as Capri (- Faraglioni).

Da Costantino (- above Chiesa Nuova) is best evenings for a delightful view over Positano as the lights come on.
Book a window table ...

Hope this helps ...

Hi

I second Steve's recommendation for Da Costantino in Positano. We visited for the first time in 2001. It was such a highlight for us we had to revisit in May this year. Great food, lovely view and nice staff. The prices are very reasonable too. And as Steve suggested booking a window table is mandatory.

Two of the best meals we had while we were on the AC in June were at Acquapazza in Cetara and at Lido Azzuro in Amalfi. We also had a good lunch at Da Ferdinando on Laurito Beach. We had a very good dinner at La Tre Sorelle down on the main beach in Positano. Based on the recommendation of a couple of other people, we will be having dinner at Bar Bruno in Positano when we return next year.

Second the suggestion of Acquapazza. Far and away one of the best restaurants in that area. If they are closed, the San Pietro in the same town, Cetara, is also excellent.

Although it has been several years, I enjoyed two excellent and unpretentious meals at Da Vincenzo in Positano (Via Pasitea). Try the pasta with fresh anchovies and breadcrumbs, then a main course of simply grilled seafood (grigliata mista). Also enjoyed Da Gemma in Amalfi (Via Gerardo Sasso).

Definitely L'Abside in Amalfi. Our favourite spot of our Amalfi Coast trip! http://ristorantelabside.it/
