Amalfi coast hotel recs

We're doing a family trip to Italy this summer, a week of which will be in Sorrento with my parents who've agreed to have the children for 2 nights so we can escape. Automatically I thought Positano, but Praiano looks like it has some lovely places too

Anyone got any recommendation for (pref adults only) romantic boutique hotel, doesn't have to be luxury but v comfortable beds, a room with a view and something a little special seeing as we get this opportunity so rarely...

Not knowing your budget, I would highly recommend Il San Pietro. It is an amazing property - perfect for a getaway for a few days.

budget isn't incredibly excessive but we can afford to splurge a little bit - I think the top line would be $350/night for 2 nights, more for 1, less for 3

looks like we might have to push it to more like $400/450 a night right?!

Villa Rosa lovely. It is also small and affordable. Almost all rooms have a terrace with spectacular views. Breakfast is brought to your terrace each morning. Do have a look. It is across the road from Le Sirenuse, a really spectacular hotel, but very expensive.

We were very happy at the Hotel Poseidon. We had a great view, there was a very nice pool and pool area, and wonderful food.

This was a splurge for us, but still in the reasonable range for such a nice place, high season.

A second vote for Hotel Poseidon - great views and good location not too far up the hill.

Hotel California is another popular choice.

any super special dinner recommendations that we ought to book in advance? Also we're both keen hikers, is it worth getting the bus to priaino to do the hike there or will walking up and down Positano be enough?
