Amalfi Coast Airport

Big news.
From August 2, twice per day from Monday to Friday there is the flight Salerno - Milan Malpensa.
Time is at 6:30am and 4.45pm from Salerno (duration time = 80') and 8:50am and 7:05pm from Malpensa.
The airport, located close to Salerno, a bit southern to the center of the town (the small town is Pontecagnano) is named Costa d'Amalfi to mean its touristic mission.
It is a good news for tourists who can avoid the crowded Naples airport if the are using as their main airport in Italy, Malpensa.
Better information here:

Thanks for this news, Vincenzo.

Now I'd be even happier if they started direct flights there from Bristol

Thanks Vincenzo. Not quite sure what the website is saying about the airline - it seems to be their own little company, is it ?

The air company is the Spanish Orion Air and the plane is Bae 146-300 with 96 seats.
The customized brand is "VolaSalerno" written on the airplane.

Vincenzo,

THANK YOU so very much for posting!!!

yippeee...don't know how I missed this! This makes it wonderfully easy for me to get to my little house fairly near to Salerno! (Avellino area)

Thanks again for the link! (ok..guess I'm a bit too excited...but so rare that new route open up)
