Amafi to Naples - private driver? Other options?

Amafi to Naples - private driver? Other options?
We will be going from Amalfi to Naples on July 23 for a flight the next day, and I've seen suggestions for hiring a private driver. While this definitely sounds like the most convenient and fastest option, I'm sure it will also be the priciest. Anyone have an idea of what this would cost (and contact info for who we should hire)?
Alternatively, last time we did the AC in 2011 we did a ferry from Amalfi to Sorrento, spent a few days there and then did a Circumvesuviana train to Naples. This time we wouldn't be staying in Sorrento, but we could go directly from the ferry docks to the train station and then keep going onwards from there.
I guess it might depend on the price difference to see if we would save enough on the public transit to make it worth the added inconvenience!

There is a bus from Sorrento to Naples airport, it leaves from the train station in Sorrento. We used this for a flight in 2012, it is a nice big comfortable coach, it was 10 euro each at that time.
It is called Curreri Viaggi. www.curreriviaggi.it
There is a button for English and you can find the schedule etc there and you can book online.
As long as you could get a ferry connection from Amalfi to Sorrento that works this could be a good option or spring for a taxi/driver from Amalfi to Sorrento.

I second Pal Q,
Take the ferry from Amalfi to Salerno and then the Circumvesuviana train to Naples.
Advantages of the ferry are the view of the coast from the water and a lot more room to move around.

Hmmm - I don't know why I didn't think of going back that way! Yet another wonderful suggestion from the Fodors forum. 
I looked into trains from Salerno to Naples, and they only take about 40 min, run frequently and are very cheap (about $6-12USD - don't know why they list USD instead of Euro, but oh well!). I think that may be the best plan.

From Salerno you can also take a train to Pompeii, the modern town near the ruins - if Pompeii is in your plans - then go onto Naples on the CircumVesuviana.
