Alpine towns in Valais with best view of southern Alps?

Jump to last reply

The alpine towns of Vercorin and Verbier sit on a plateau that opens to the south onto views of Mont Blanc, Gran Combin and Zermatt, which is want my husband and I want to see. The majority of the hotels in these two towns are sold out in early October so I checked out the Crans-Montana area, which lies in a valley opposite the other two towns (north of the Rhone Valley). Can one really see these same snow topped Alps from the Crans-Montana valley or do you have to take a funicular to a higher elevation?

With time running out to make a hotel reservation I greatly appreciate your thoughts.

Thank you.
Nancy
