http://www.goaland.net/index.asp?lang=en

I think the above link is the best land link. I wish I could give you personal advice, but it has been 15 years I was in land, so I cannot. That time it was a bicycle trip around land and the islands in Finlands archipelago. Bicycling is a very popular way to go around there. There is a bicycle rental place at least in Mariehamn harbour.

Like Elina it's been some time since I was in Aland-1990.I had wanted to go there since the first time I travelled to Finland as planes and boats stopped there between Sweden and Turku.
We travelled from Turku and arrived in the early hours of the morning in a deserted ferry port which is a fair walk outside the centre of Mariehamn with two tinies in tow!
We had reserved a guest house which was comfortable and we hired bikes there but unfortunately it rained and so we didn't get too far.The countryside was pretty though. The next day the sun came out and we spent the day on the beach.
The islands are pretty accessible one to the other by boat and our Finnish friends go there to camp and cycle.
It is unspoilt and we really enjoyed our short time there.
