Aix-en-Provence area--"house" to rent
Any first-hand recommendations for renting a "house"/gite/etc?
A particular agency? A favorite place where you stayed?
Starting research for 2012....for a possible family gathering or just us 2.
Merci!

You should find some good ideas on www.slowtrav.com We have used a couple of companies found on SlowTrav and been happy. Lots of traveller recommendations too.
We were in Aix earlier this year but stayed in a hotel on the Cours Mirabeau. A word of warning - you do not want to drive or park in Aix unless absolutely necessary. Nightmare. And we have driven all over the world.

I loved Aix-en-Provence and I envy you your visit! We also stayed in a hotel on the Cours Mirabeau, I think (is that the main street with the boulevard down the middle?). I've been trying to remember the name of that hotel -- what was yours, Kay?
We drove into town and parked in the back parking lot of the hotel and then just walked everywhere else. It's a lovely town for walking.

Hi goddesstogo, we stayed at the Grand Hotel Negre Coste. The best thing about it was the central location but the hotel itself was old and musty with things falling apart. It needed a good overhaul.
