airport to hotel, more problems
I have read numerous helpful posts about using a limo service. I emailed romelimoservice to reserve a car for 23 January. Here's the problem: They want me to email or fax or call their mobil phone with my credit card information. How secure can this be? Why can't I phone a landline and give a live person the info? Is this how all the car companies operate? Does anyone have any suggestions? (When I tried to book trenitalia eurostar tickets online American Express refused then called me for security clearance. It made me a little paranoid.)

Is this the company you are talking about?

They charge a flat 35 euro.
I booked by email with them and wouldn't worry about it at all. I'm not even sure I had to provide a credit card number. I know I didn't prepay.
I'm not sure why giving the information over a landline is any more secure to be honest.

Emailing is very secure--if you split the number into two separate emails. At least as secure as handing your credit card to a waiter in any restaurant who then disappears for 20 minutes doing Lord knows what with your number.

We get this sort of question all the time -- "Is it safe to e-mail my cc info?"
Well - have you ever bought anything on line? Have you ever booked a hotel on line? Have you ever used Priceline? Have you ever given you credit card to a waiter? Have you ever -- well you get the idea. You are just a "vulnerable" using a cc at a hometown restaurant.
And IF the very unlikely happens and something fraudulent is done w/ your cc - you are protected.

Try this link... I think you can enter the CC into a secure website: <a href= https://www.e-zreservations.com/WebA....jsp</a>

Thank you all for your help. This was my first post on the boards. Next time I will be more specific as to destination. (DUH! How stupid can I be?)I was able to book with the airport limo shuttle service. It was recommended on these boards and they didn't ask for a cc. I'll be sure to post the outcome when we return.
