Airport Hotel Frankfurt, Germany
I can get a good airfare to Turkey, but it requires a night stay in Frankfurt, Germany. Can anyone
tell me the names of cheap hotels (less than 100 USD per night, the 'lesser' the better) very very
near the airport in Frankfurt. By the way, I hope there is only one international airport in
Frankfurt, if not, advise me there also.

Yes, yes, I have already tried search engines, but even when I put in 'airport hotels frankfurt
germany' I still get 100s of listings of hotels all over the world, or at least all over the city of
Frankfurt.

Please specify complete name of hotel if possible and I will try to find their direct web site. And,
yes, I know I can try to sleep in chairs or benches overnight, but I am ruling that out.

Thanks
For convenience you can't beat the Sheraton attached to the Frankfurt airport.

You might try looking for special rates online. When I've checked, it is more expensive weeknights than on weekends. Watch out for the "day rates." It appears that this is for travelers to use during the day when they land in Europe and vacate by the afternoon.

Several years ago we booked a last minute room from the tourist information desk in the airport,I don't remember exactly where it was, but it seems to me it was in a lower level in the terminal where American airlines was. Anyway, they gave us several options, including a price for the Sheraton which was quite bit lower than they had quoted me at their front desk only minutes before. It was great to walk back to the same crabby front desk clerk and pay over a hundred dollars less! The Sheraton will probably still be too much but the TI may have other last minute options.

There is a Steigenberger hotel near the airport. The rates are lower than the Sheraton and there is free shuttle transport. It is isolated even though it has parklike grounds where you can stretch your legs but nowhere else to walk to. It's a commercial hotel so nothing quaint but the free shuttle back to the airport will take you to the in-airport train station so you can go into Frankfurt if desired (not that I think Frankfurt is any treat). Steigenberger has a web site.

If you want CHEAP, you can get a bed in one of the nicest hostels in Europe (2-4 bed rooms with ensuite bath, nice cafe) for about $20 in Mainz; the hostel isn't too far from the Mainz Süd train station, which gets you to the airport in about 20 - 25 minutes. This page in German has an e-mail link: http://www.djh-info.de/seiten/djh/mainz/Mainz.htm

I stayed at the Sheraton last summer. It is expensive, but sooo convenient to get up in the morning and walk across the walkway that connects the hotel to the airport. I agree, check the different websites to see if you can come up with a decent rate. It's worth it.
