Airline from Amsterdam to Berlin or Frankfurt
Hi guys and gals, I have been searching online for an airline from Amsterdam to Berlin or Frankfurt but have been unable to find one.
Anyone knows a reliable airline which flies the above route? Preferably below US$300 per person.

Transavia flies from Amsterdam to Berlin. I punched in some dayes for October and got a RT flight for $220.
I flew with them two years ago AMS to Venice. I thought the flight and service to be very nice.

You can check on this website, just key in B for Berlin and see who flies there - great website but I'm pretty sure it doesn't show every single airline -

Amsterdam Central to the Frankfurt Hbf is 3:56 on the fastest train.
travel time to the airport - 30 minutes
pre-flight arrival requirement - 90 minutes
flight time - 75 minutes
travel from FRA to downtown - 45 minutes
That makes the train about 4 minutes faster if you want to go central to central.
Even if the estimates are off a little , it hardly seems worth it to do all the changing/connecting and risk air travel delays for 30-40 minutes in potential time gained.
The train is cheaper too.

There's more to deciding between train & plane than time of the train ride. Include the 2 hours pre-flight at the airport to checkin, go thru security, & get to the gate - & then possibly the delays & lost luggage! Then the time to get your luggage. And as said before, where is the train station located in relationship to the airport? Usually the train station is in town. Lastly, not having the huge hassle of the airport is a big plus.
So, when it is all added up, is the train that much slower?
Then there is price to consider. When comparing, be sure to add in the transfer costs to the hotel.

How far is the airport in Berlin and Amsterdam from the city center? In terms of duration?

Amsterdam is maybe 30 minutes to central station from the airport, via train. It is a very easy connection.
As for Berlin, it looks like all of the AMS flights go into Tegel, so it is likely at least 20 minutes to anywhere you might be staying in Berlin.
I agree with some of the others that the train makes sense to Frankfurt, but I don't think it is anywhere near the no-brainer that others think it is.
However, Frankfurt is at the very edge of the dividing line between where trains are competitive with flying. Berlin, at 6-7 hours or so by train, is well beyond that. So, if going to Berlin, then I would definitely fly.

I just tried to book a flight on transavia.com from Amsterdam to Berlin, and since I live in the US, my two credit cards for denied! I read that some low cost carriers do not accept cards that held outside of the EU.
