airline choice for Greece?Continental vs. Air France
Hi All,
Amongst many choices I've narrowed it down to Boston to Greece on Air France
or Providence to Greece on Continental.
Any advice or recommendations?

What are the connections you need to make?
I'm assuming
BOS-CDG-ATH on AF
Providence-EWR-ATH on CO
I'd much prefer non-stop across the Atlantic to my destination, all else being equal so I'd opt for CO.

CDG in Paris is such a terrible airport in terms of layout, and international flights sometimes require a transfer from one terminal to another terminal for your connecting flight onward. With that in mind, be sure you have plenty of time to change terminals if you do go with Air France. To be safe give yourself 2 hours. Passport Control alone can take an hour. Obviously it can be done in much less time, I've done it, but it's very stressful and in the case of CDG it's best to err on the side of caution.

We took Air France this summer from JFK-Athens, with a connection at CDG. If you can avoid that, do so. CDG is a logistical nightmare, and Air France loves to schedule connecting flights with very little time inbetween.

The only problem with CO is that you have to go through EWR. EWR (and the rest of the NE airports) was horrible this summer, with massive delays. I don't know when you're going, but I hope it's some quieter times.
But do not attempt to book any short connection at EWR. Especially since your PVD-EWR flight is likely to be on a regional jet. These are delayed and canceled first when there is air traffic problem at EWR and the region.
