Airfare trends?

Hi all,
I am starting to price a round trip fare flying out of San Francisco to Seville,Spain for December. Fares right now are going for $1200-$1300..which is a bit high, I think. I am waiting until early fall to actually book this trip to see if fares come down after summer. Does anyone know what the usual trend is with fares (if there is a usual trend)Do they normally come down after the high season is over..or with what is going on with gas, is it just unknown which way they will go?

Thanks,
Angela

WHEN in December - if after the 15th (except the 25th) then buy now

I'd also consider flying to a major European airport and get a low costs airline connection - www.whichbudget.com/en/cheapflights.php?to=SVQ -

Don't try to change airport (eg LHR to LGW) BTW if you do this as you need to allow at least 5 hours between flights. If you stay at the same airport it comes down to 2-3 depending on which airport it is

Try going into Dublin and then Ryanair to Spain.

I am going December 18-Jan.5th. The route I like is S.F to Heathrow then to Madrid then to Seville...is Heathrow going to be a total nightmare this time of year? I don't want to fly from here to the east coast because of possible bad weather and delays.

Thanks,
Angela

You're paying the UK tax for flying thru LHR. It'll be cheaper if you bypass the UK.

Also, I don't think the prices will be that much lower given you're flying during the holiday season.
