Airfare to Prague from Boston in November?
Hello, we are interested in spending a few days in Prague over the Thanksgiving holiday, and I've been watching fares for a few days. The best I could find is $692 from Boston on United with very decent connections (2 hour layover in Frankfurt) on airfare.com. I found this fare using kayak. We've never been to Prague before and was wondering if $692 is an excellent airfare for this time of the year. Thank you very much for your input.

I think that's a good fare. Is there cheaper ways to get to Prague? Sure, like DL and CO are offering very low fares from NYC to LGW (London-Gatwick), and you can fly easyjet to Prague for under $100 roundtrip. But that means 2 connections, 2 tickets. Not worth saving the $100 or less, in my opinion.

rkkwan, with the short vacation time, doing more than one connection does not work for us.
wally34949 - I am actually looking at package deals at Expedia and they have great deals, using this particular flight. Priceline has an excellent deal at $865 per person, staying at the Marriott Prague for 4 nights. The flights are not shown until you buy it, but when you click on the "choose your flight" section, this particular UA flight is the first one on the list. I called Priceline to get a feel of what flight the package might include, and they were non-committal. I also checked the Marriott package at Expedia, and they were $500 more for the entire stay. It would seem going with the package is the best deal. Now, I have to figure out if I am willing to take the risk and go with Priceline! You could choose the exact flight but it will add about $150 to the package.
Barbo1, the $692 BOS-PRG-BOS is inclusive of taxes.

Have you checked airfares with any consolidators or brokers? We're flying open jaw from Washington D.C. to Prague (via Amsterdam on KLM) and then Berlin back to D.C. for $575. Don't know if they still have any good deals left, but we used

Rufus TFirefly - I've tried consolidators but not bt-store.com. I tried them just now and the prices really look good but their system appears to be down; I can't get past the "select" button after I choose the flights. I'll try later and post the results. Thank you.

Bt-store.com is cheaper - the UA flight is $655 and the AF flight is even cheaper at $622 (these prices are include taxes and fees). I would love to book the AF flights but the layover is under an hour and I know that we'll never make the connection having had a near miss connection at CDG this past summer with over an hour layover. Thanks for all your help. I'll keep on researching hotels, package deals and see what the best option is out there.

Have you checked Czech Air, connecting at JFK instead of in Europe? I flew that way to Prague a few years ago. Also, you might want to check Laifer Tours, who specialize in packages (not guided tours) to the Czech Republic and other places. Paul Laifer got me a great package at a discount to what I could find on my own a couple years ago in October. I see hotel/air/transfer packages for what you're seeing for airfare on the site now... www.laifertours.com

We went with Tatra Travel (www.tatratravel.com) last November, and appreciated the airport transfers, the 1/2-day included sightseeing tour, in addition to airfare and hotel. All for a great price.
