Airfare SALE on Virgin -- HURRY!

Virgin and Continental are selling seats to London from JFK and Newark for $401 RT including taxes for travel for all of 2006, including peak summer! It must be a huge mistake fare. It WILL NOT LAST LONG. Only available on Travelocity.com. EVEN IF YOU DON'T LIVE IN THE NY AREA YOU WILL SAVE MONEY BY FLYING INTO NEW YORK/NEWARK AND CATCHING THESE FARES TO EUROPE compared to peak summer travel from Chicago, Atlanta, LA, etc. And if LONDON is not where you want to go then check the discount European carriers like easyJet that fly from London to other European destinations! (check out our route maps page to see where these airlines fly.)

I'm almost swooning--I just got JFK/Heathrow for $413 total on Virgin. The lowest I'd seen before this was $853. Thank you, thank you...now off to pinch myself to make sure I'm not dreaming...

(I am not supposed to be rewarded like this for playing on the computer when I'm supposed to be doing paperwork!)

Thank you!!!! We just booked $400 tickets, EWR - Gatwick in Aug. Looks like we're going on vacation. What a fun treat for a snowy Sat. night! Now just need to decide what to do, but planning is such fun.

Topping this so someone else can get this euphoric buzz...I just shoveled approximately four million pounds of snow and I'm not feeling a thing!

Indeed you did. It is an amazing fare sale for the period that it covers.

I tried NYC to London for our dates (7/27, returning 8/12) and the airfare was $920.00. Plus we would have to pay for either train or flight to NYC and then airfare from London to Frankfurt. oh boy! lol I have a feeling I'll be holding out until the end.

Raineydae:

Wow is not really the appropriate word. The expression should be more like "holy moly!"

I just booked our family of four to London in late August for $408, roundtrip. I called Virgin - while I was looking at the internet fare on my computer screen- and they quoted $853 for the same seats. So, we are heading to Europe. I had been looking to go but, the fares across the Atlantic were really prohibitive.

So, thank you, thank you.

Now, my plan is a few days in London and then, most likely to Spain. Maybe Barcelona or Girona, then the Costa Brava. Anyone have a good suggestion on that?? We need a nice small to mid size pretty Spanish beach town within a couple hrs drive of Barcelona. No huge concrete towers but needs a beach.

Thanks again. All my time reading this board can actually pay off.

katzen:

The fare is still available as of now. You just have to do a flex search to get the fare.

katzen- you may want to try again, because I just booked for practically the same time period and last I looked your dates were available at 413. (Make sure you go through travelocity and not the airline).

Raineydae - thank you, thank you, thank you!!!

(I sure hope I'll be able get to and from the places I'm actually going via London!! LOL)

thanks for the help ... I think I have to book through the airline themselves (customer service) .. my husband would be R/T from NY to London (Virgin) then london to Frankfurt (another flight) whereas with me .. I'm open jaw .. flying out of Paris ... I think I have more complicated tickets. ... but it is oh so tempting! We live in Northern Virginia .... and were originally looking for 1 ticket R/T from IAd to FRA and returning FRA to IAD ... and 1 ticket IAD to FRA and CDG to IAD. I'm staying on an extra week and meeting my sister (so flying out of paris back to home). So if we were to use Virgin .. and book on-line, I think I'd pull my hair out.

Thank you so much Raineydae! What an unspeakable deal, especially for summer travel!!! I've been resigning myself to paying $800+/tix for my family of 4 to LHR for the last few months and am tremendously thankful for the 50% savings.

Now, I can splurge a little on our hotel searches

This is a great sale! We will be going to London this summer and then taking easyjet or ryanair from there. It is exciting to get such a good deal. I hope lots of people heard about it and were able to take advantage. Happy travels.
