Air traffic control strike June 24-29
We are scheduled to fly from CDG to Chicago on June 24th.
Any suggestions on what we can do to prepare ahead of time for not getting out?
We actually wouldn't mind staying longer but to change our flight now would be costly.
Will it be impossible to find a hotel if the strike does go on?
Isn't there a fireworks show on The Seine on the 24th?
We have been stuck before (Paris 9/11 attack, Air strike in the Caribbean, etc.) and always made the best of it but this time we have our 13 yr. old GD with us so we'd like to be prepared.

In my experience, having a smartphone with internet you can use extensively is a godsend. Once they cancel your flight, it gets all fouled up. The operating carrier no longer knows you anymore. You have to go back to the ticket issuing carrier. They might reschedule on a different codeshare using a bizarre alternate route departing at totally different time including many hours earlier. You might have to do this when you are not at your hotel. To find out what happened requires calling and waiting on customer service lines as well as going to several web site to see who has the reservation so you can check in online. I hate to have my tickets booked under a indirect booking arrangement like a consolidator during this type of event.

But as we are IN a hotel room already possibly they wouldn't need us to leave because the new people wouldn't be coming in. This is what happened on 9/11. Now I do realize that there will still be people coming in by train, car, bus.
Since we usually stay in an apt. I can see your delima and I hope it all works out for you.
Oh well, on to a new adventure.

I would not worry at all. The air traffic controller strikes rarely, if ever, affect transatlantic flights. However, if you are connecting at CDG to a second flight elsewhere, you might experience inconvenience and delays.
