Air Traffic Control affected by strike Portugal 29,30 June, July 1,2,3

NAV strike affects air traffic control in Portugal, on 29 and 30 June and 1, 2 and 3 July.
The NAV strike, which will cause major air traffic restriction, is called for the following periods:

- from 06:00am to 12:00pm and from 06:00pm to 10:00pm, on 29 and 30 June;

- from 06:00am to 12:00pm and from 05:00pm to 09:00pm, on 1, 2 and 3 July.

In order to mitigate as much as possible the effects of this strike, TAP is authorizing date changes free of charge and is also rescheduling its operation, changing departures to before or after the strike periods. However, TAP as also been forced to cancelled several flights.

Passengers with reservations for flights affected are being contacted to find the best alternative flight. If you have a flight booked for one of these days, please verify your email.

More information can be obtained here, through TAP's Contact Center (see here your country's contact number) or your Travel Agent.

See here list of affected flights.

There was a air traffic strike of some sort when we were in Lisbon in May. The strike affected the travel the day following the strike, also. You may want a plan B - ie make sure there is room in the inn the day after your intended leave date or other ways to travel if your travel is imperative like catching a cruise. Just a thought!

Ah, shades of 1981 but the air traffic strike was in the US, just when we got married in August and were off to a fabulous trip to Lisbon and the Algarve. We had to fly through Montreal to get to Lisbon....had a great honeymoon in Portugal. We flew TAP also...

Thanks lincasanova. I am not flying at the time (later in August) but it does not hurt to keep watching for these things.
I did not think of strikes until you mentioned this.
