Air France is offering a good fare and companion ticket to Paris

Aif France is offering a roundtrip fare of $505.00 to Paris with a companion ticket for only $5.05. You have to book by May 15th but you can travel between October 15, 2004 and March 15, 2005.

I meant to type Air France. Also, this fare is being offered from Kennedy or Newark.

I checked this out on the Air France website and the sale is legit. Taxes are added but round trip from Chicago to CDG for example is $404. Not bad.

Also USAir is matching the fare.

Very tempting.

Great fares, but ATL is not included.

My lady wife refuses to drive to Miami in order to go to Paris.

Ira, maybe combine it with a trip to New York?

Yes Ira, that is what my coworker and I are doing. Booked ticket for Oct. out of Newark for about $340 per person incldg taxes. Now we will wait for a sale on NY. It is on sale now for $175 but ends Oct. 6 so must wait for another. There are so many flights to Newark/NY from atl, we should round up something on sale before Oct. I put NY on my farewatcher.
$500 is not so great for November but I thought pretty good for mid Oct. I also like to fly on Air France.

I checked the AF website and the fare for early March 2005 comes up as $2400. I called the 800 number and was on hold for about 20 minutes and hung up. Now when I call, the messaqge says "All lines are busy call back later".

Has anyone had success?

CC, I can't find anyone from SF who wants to go! Wanna fly separately and meet over there?

Woo Hoo I am going with my friend from Chicago! We booked last Sunday, and are going in March 2005. My friends wanted 4 tickets and tried to book 5/11/04. They could not get seats for Jan, Feb, or March. So it is selling out. PJ

I am sure Air France has been totally bombarded after the sale was listed on TravelZoo top 20 today. We Fodorites are so lucky to have each other looking out for us. I just booked yesterday around noon leaving from Newark and still got one of the first Oct. dates. I was on hold for 10 minutes or so.

Thanks again for the heads up!!

CC, if you flew from Boston and I flew from SF, we wouldn't be companions!

I purchased my flight on 5/7 after I saw a post from Betsy, I believe. I'm going in February. I have told others about it and they are finding that it is selling out for the dates they would want. I can't wait.

I also booked last week for February after the initial post here. The woman who took my reservation said they were all working overtime. I was on hold for quite a while, so don't give up.

I waited until 5/10 to purchase, wish I hadn't waited. All my dates from DC were sold out so we are leaving from PHL instead (2 hours but worth it). I needed to talk to Air France and called today but they are not answerting phones - you can't even be put on hold!! For those still trying, maybe partner airline KLM will sell the AF tix.

Guess I won't be trying Air Tahiti afterall. Does anybody know why we couln't book online. Hate wasting an hour on the the phone although the french operator was very nice.

Yippee!!! I called the AF 800 number about an hour ago to check on availability from Chicago-Paris for next March. Seats were available. Fare RTw/tax - $393.92ea. I paused for about 3 seconds - could I pull the trigger? Yes.

I was on hold for only about 10 minutes. While on hold I checked on Orbitz and the same fares were offered + a $20 dollar service fee. The person that took the reservation told me that they were not available on the AF website but were available from travel agents and Orbitz and other on line booking agents.

Won't my wife be surprised. And - we have 10 months to look forward to it!
