Considering changing our itinerary to go to Mykonos (flying), then taking a ferry to Santorini, then an overnight ferry to Athens. I love the idea of an overnight ferry-sounds like a fun adventure. Anyone ever take the Aegeon pelagos Prevelis?
What kind of birth should we get? Any other thoughts?
Ended up booking Atrina houses. So excited!
Aegeon pelagos?

Oh my. I've googled a bit and there isn't much good to be said about the Prevelis. Is it that bad? Sounds like blue star is better but I don't see any overnight options.
Actually what you are getting is an overnight ferry from Rhodes to Piraeus with a stop at Santorini. Santorini and Pireaus aren't far enough apart for a true overnight ferry unless it is a very old, slow one — Prevelis meets those criteria. Even then, either departure or arrival times will be at an inconvenient hour. Looking at its current timetable, some days Prevelis departs Santorini at 23:30 and arrives in Piraeus at 07:00, other days departing at 20:30 and arriving Piraeus at 05:20. The 23:30 - 07:00 doesn't look too bad, but I'm not sure how I would spend the time between an 05:20 arrival and check in at an Athens hotel.

There will probably be an "overnight" option with Blue Star 1 or 2, but it isn't showing up on the booking websites yet. Over the Greek Easter period it departs Rhodes at 17:00, stops at Santorini around 02:00 the next morning, and arrives in Piraeus at 07:45.
Prevelis is a Japanese ferry, built in 1980 and sold to ANEK when too old for the Japanese market. Blue Star 1 & 2 were built in 2000 and bought new by Blue Star, which has the most modern ships in the Greek fleet.
