Do you mean Sevilla - I've not heard of Savilla? And I don't understand your question - do you mean you do or don't want to travel by train? I think Spain and Portugal are fine for travelling alone - just use normal common sense.
Hi. Forget the train, take the bus. There are direct bus lines from Sevilla to Lisboa.
Yes it is safe for lonely travellers, as long as you keep common sense. Have fun, and be careful with the heat in August.
You guys are great, thank you for your advice!!!!!
Lisbon & Sevilla, here i come!!

Don't rule out Porto for two days, only 3.5 hours by train from Lisboa. It has not been destroyed by earthquakes or war and is original, read old. But go only if you are prepared to spend several hours and tour at least a few of the port anegas. This is where port comes from and the town is cute.
make a stop over in Evora-Portugal... Well worth it!
