Advice on splitting six days between Amalfi Coast and Rome

Jump to last reply

Hello. We are finalizing some plans for a trip next year (snagged the all important airline upgrades). We are renting a villa in Cortona with some friends and then wrapping up with six nights in the Amalfi Coast and Rome before flying home. I'm trying to figure out how best to split up our last six nights.

We originally were going to do 2 nights Capri, 2 nights Positano and 2 nights Rome but decided we don't want to move around that much so we're thinking 3 nights in Positano and 3 nights in Rome. My questions are as follows:

1) Is Positano worth three nights or should we just do 2 nights in Positano and 4 in Rome (we've been to Rome a few times and love it, just not sure what all there is to do in Positano besides maybe a day trip to Ravello)

2) If we did 3 nights in Positano is it worth a day trip to Capri? I wouldn't mind wandering the island and maybe the blue grotto, but not a big fan of the daytripping hordes so may take a pass.

We think we're going to splurge on Le Sirenuse so the next debate is what room type....

Thanks as always for the advice.
