Advice For My Visit To Brataslava

I'll be in Vienna later this month and am planning a day in Brataslava. Any tips on what is most worthwhile to see. Also, should I say over for a night or just return to Vienna that evening?
Thanks for any help.

Boring boring boring. If you really want to see it then make it a day trip. There are much more interesting places. Sorry to be so blunt but I did not care for it. It is cheap but "nothing extra".

I believe the Washington Post has an article about Bratislava - I'll see if I can find the link. I remember the article mentioning that the Opera House is an architecural gem.

Bratislava is an amazing place, especially in summer. It is very very cheap and you get great quality especially for food. I had the best Japanese meal ever over there and we only paid 16 USD for 2 people !!
You can see the Castle, the bridge with the ufo like tower on it, the old pedestrian town is very neat and clean. Stay over one night...but if you are single and wanna have a good time, then stay more - much more !!!

I lived in Bratislava during the last school year and I think it is definitely worth at least a day. It is not as big as Prague, Vienna, or Budapest, but it is also different from all of them, thereby deserving a visit, IMHO. The castle, St. Martin's Cathedral, the old town are all worth a look. Everything is so incredibly low-priced, it was hard to go anywhere else and pay "normal" prices. Enjoy!

I lived in Bratislava for 2 years. Yes, it can be quite boring at times, but a day trip is worthwhile. You can walk around the compact Old Town; enjoy fabulous Czech and Slovak beer for about $1 a pint; see the Opera House, cathedral and art galleries in Old Town; sit outside at Cafe Divan on Panska ulica and enjoy a great cappucino (at a fraction of what it would cost in Vienna) while watching the beautiful Slovak girls walk by. There's a train from Vienna's Sudbanhof to either of Bratislava's two train stations, Hlavna Stanica (main station, and more convenient) or Petrzalka, at 8:15am. It takes about 1 hour. The train from BA to Vienna leaves from Hlavna Stanica at 17:52 and 19:05 in the evening, or at 7:55, 11:02 and other days in the day. Have fun if you go!
