Advance tickets for Paris museums for a two day visit

We will be in Paris for only a day and a half to catch our plane back to US after a week in Normandy. We want to see Rodin's Museum, Musee d'Orsay, Sainte Chappelle, and Notre Dame on Saturday, Sept. 25.Since we have such a short time, we don't want to spend time standing in line. Is it possible to get advance tickets just for these places or would it be worth it to get a museum pass? Can we get advance tickets from our hotel,Grande Hotel Levecque, or what is the best way to do it? Unfortunately there is not a music performance at St. Chappelle the Sat. night, Sept. 25, we will be there. Are there other places that might have good performances? Thanks a lot.

The museum pass for one day costs 80 FF and would be worth it for these two museums and Sainte-Chapelle. There is no charge for Notre-Dame unless you want to go to the archeological site and the towers. You can get the pass at most métro stops where you will not wait in line very long or you can get it at most participating museums. The lines at the Rodin are not usually long, and as you face the Orsay, there is a museum shop at the left where I believe you can buy the carte des musées. The line to enter there with the card is not long. Enjoy.
I doubt that the pass would be worth it for saving time for the sites you mentioned. Just go to the Orsay early in the day (close to opening). We didn't experience any lines at Ste. Chapelle (mid-day) and Rodin (mid-afternoon). Cost may be another thing. I don't remember how much it cost to see these because we had a pass, but I wouldn't think it is as much as a pass. However, if you do plan to see much else while there, such as the Louvre in particular, then I would get a pass.

Hi Sally. We just returned from Paris where we did get the museum pass, 3 day for 160FF, 1 day for 80FF. I didn't notice the cost on all of the sites but I think the Rodin museum was 10FF and the visit to the towers of Notre Dame was 35FF. The only lines we saw were for the towers at Notre Dame because they only allow so many people at one time. It was a great view of the city from the towers and you get a lovely view of the gargoyles close up.

I'd recommend getting the pass if you want to see the four sites. If you get an early start you might even squeeze in a short visit to the Louvre to see Mona Lisa and Venus de Milo.

We were in Paris in August, also for only a day and a half, and we managed to see all that we did only because we bought the museum pass - not standing in line was fabulous and saved us a ton of time! There were lines everywhere, and many of the lines were very long - including the Orsay, even though we went shortly after opening, (mind you, it was August and the height of tourist season so maybe the lines won't be so bad when you are there). We bought the pass at the ticket booth of the metro station nearest our hotel for 80FF (one day pass). We went to all of the places you want to see, and the cost would have been 39FF for the Orsay, 28FF for the Rodin Museum, 32FF for Sainte Chapelle, free for the Notre Dame but 30FF to climb the towers (which we did) ... for a total of 99FF without climbing the towers, or 129FF if you do climb the towers. Either way, worth it from a monetary point of view, and even more so for time if you are trying to squeeze in as much as possible in a short period of time. Enjoy!
