Advance Ticketing
We're (dad, mom, 1 kid) planning a 10-12 day trip to Rome in late November/early December. I'm debating if I should purchase advance tickets for museums and attractions, or if the off-season lines will be short enough to purchase day-of.
We haven't decided exactly what our itinerary will be, but we love museums, history and exploring, so 60% of our time will probably be spent on the most popular destinations in Rome and remaining time will be wandering with no purpose.
So, are advance tickets recommended in the off-season?
Thanks everyone!

I don't think you need advance tickets, except possibly for the Vatican Museums, if you want to go there. Even there, if you go on a Tuesday or Thursday afternoon, you probably wouldn't find much of a ticket queue.
There are some places that require advance reservation, such as the Domus Romane, and the Borghese Gallery. However, I think that in late November, you should be able to make reservations with little advance notice.

I was there last Feburary for a week with my daughter and three teen age grand daughters and the only tickets I bought in advance were to walk through the Holy Doors , opera tickets and super economy train tickets for a day in Florence. We literally walked into the Vatican at 2 pm....I have a picture of us walking through the piazza to St. Peter's with not another soul in sight except my family....awesome. No line at all for the elevator to St. Peter's dome....only one other person got on with us.....use the ticket office by the forum and not coliseum to buy those tickets....again walked right up....the only wait we had was the first venting we went to watch the sunset over St. Peter's through the keyhole.....maybe 15 minutes....aerect time to visit Rome I found......
