Activities and Hotel in Chaminix

Me and my wife are visiting Chamonix France in June. We need following assistance.

1. Hotels near chamonix-mont blanc Train station. About 80 to 100 Euro for double room.
2. What are possible sight seeing activities in chamonix apart from Aiguille Du Midi cable car excursions. How much time it takes to return from Aiguille du midi if we start around 8:30 AM.

The cable car ride takes 20 min one way.
You may have a look at http://www.chamonix.com/welcome,0,en.html

In the immediate vicinity of Chamonix's main train station is Hotel Pointe Isabelle, Hotel Gustavia and Hotel Mercure Centre. You shall have to check prices yourself.

From the same website linked above by neckervd, this is their tourism office's accommodation search page.

Another excursion very near to the train station is the Montenvers train. It takes you by a rack-and-pinion train up to the mountain village of Montenvers: www.chamonix.com/montenvers,81,en.html‎

The cable car is a once in a lifetime experience. Hopefully it will not be cloudy.

Take a look at Hotel D'Aarve-it may be in your price range. It is just a short walk from train station and our room had a balcony that overlooked the river. The hotel has an elevator. Other activities from Aiguille du Midi could be the train trip to the glacier and hiking along the river-very pretty area. There is a luge, I think, but it was not up & running when we were there in very early June.
