Can someone help me find a REASONABLY priced accommodation for two around Skaftafell or Jokulsarton, Iceland for the 8th of May.
The price range seems to be nothing lower that almost 200 dollars a night.

Hi Nancyclare,
i can't help you specifially but if you go to the icelandic farm holidays site, you can search for most anything you want - farms, guest houses, hotels - here's the link:
http://www.farmholidays.is/Accommodation/Search
I put in southwest iceland and 8/5/13-9/5/13 to get you started.
only problem is that the little red dot showing you where the place is seems to be stuck over the most westerly tip of the snaefellness peninsular. but I'm sure you can work it out from te individual places' websites.
we used these people to book our accommodation on our trip a few years ago and it worked out fine - i'm sure you'll have a great time.
My friend and I actually stayed at the Vik Hostel which was about an 1.5 from Skaftafell and from Skaftafell another 45 minutes to Jokulsarlon.
It was a cheaper stay and we just hopped on a day tour with a bunch of other guests at the hostel.
My experiences blogged here: http://icecoldland.com/2012/12/16/day-9-skaftafell-national-park/
If however, you would like to stay longer at Skaftafell, you can try contacting the visitor centre for accomodation nearby.
Here are the contact details and opening hours:
